Order of the Ebon Sword

When Thalos, last Keeper of the Flame, turned his back on the Order to join the Lich King, many of his most loyal subjects followed him. These battle-hardened veterans of Ebon Flame soon arose to the ranks of fearsome death knights.

An order within an order, the Ebon Swords are the elite caste within the Knights of the Ebon Blade, answering exclusively to their dark lord, Thalos. During their service to the Lich King, the Ebon Sword was responsible for many of the Scourge's more successful efforts against the living.

After the redemption of Thalos and the liberation of the Knights of the Ebon Blade, most of the warriors of the Ebon Sword have returned to their old comrades within the Ebon Flame, though some of the more fanatic followers have remained in servitude the Lich King.
