OFDS Mission Statement

Initial motivation

So before you get going with your application its probably best to just make sure we're all on the same page as to what Order From Disorder Sprung is all about.

So this is a mission statement if you will, so we're all clear on why I decided to do this.

I've been on Moonglade and playing Kath for nearly three years now and I've spent the vast majority of my time here in roleplaying guilds. And I've loved every minute of it, from Icecoast to The Academy, its been great. The only thing I've ever missed is the opportunity to raid, to see end game with (and this is really important) friends.

The challenge

I've watched raiding communities come and go, I've despaired as I listen to the hardcore of both the rp and the raid camps say the two can't mix. And now I'm in a position to do something about it. Granted, if I wanted some pretty purple things, I could just bum along with The Flame, let them carry me through places and get them. But that, for me, isn't what end game's about. I like a challenge, the idea of discovering a place with my freinds, finding out what works and what doesn't, spending vast amounts of time hugging the floor...
So I chatted about this with various friends, both inside Ebon Flame and without, and it seemed to me and others that Ebon Flame was the perfect platform to launch a raid community from. They are a respected roleplaying guild, who also raid. What could be better?

Time to stop rambling and clarify what this is all about.

What's it all about?

Order From Disorder Sprung is not about purples. Well, not much. It's about roleplayers coming together, working as a team and having fun seeing stuff we haven't had an opportunity to see before. It isn't a place to gear up while you apply to other raid guilds, though of course we wont stop you going to one if you want to...it certainly isn't a shortcut to getting into Ebon Flame. I created it for people who are in rp guilds who don't do Kara runs, and who don't want to leave. Thats it. People who haven't seen the place before and would like to. If it takes off, we'll see about some other places like Gruul.

All we ask of you as a member is to be yourself, friendly, helpful, to roleplay as much as possible and to have fun!

I hope thats clear. We all want nicer gear, purples are shiny, and no matter how much we play this for the rp aspect, the PvE aspect keeps us interested too. As long as we keep in mind the fact that the purple stuff is not the primary ambition, but a nice bonus, we'll all be fine!
