Physical Appearance

A night elf of average height and muscular build, with blue skin and long light blue hair that she usually wears tied back. Her face is tattooed with the symmetrical markings common to many night elf females, and her skin bears a pattern of scars, the consequence of many years of melee fighting.

Personality

She always appears alert and watchful, even when resting. Her word, though not given lightly, is unbreakable once given and she always sees tasks through. She is fiercely loyal to Tyrande Whisperwind and protective of the kaldorei lands. She is wary of arcane and especially demonic magics, although she admits that they have their uses in battle.

Background

Faela was born several centuries ago in what is now known as the Felwood. Her father was a herbalist and her mother a Sentinel, and, like many night elf girls, Faela was sent to train with the Sentinel Army as soon as she was old enough. As a child, under her mother's watchful eye, she had grown proficient with a bow but during her training she found that she favoured the moonglaive, both in close combat and as a thrown weapon. Soon she joined the cadre of Sentinels known as hippogryph riders, and she has known her close companion, Dawntalon, since he was an egg.

The Third War

Faela witnessed the corruption of her beloved homeland by the Skull of Gul'dan, and she and Dawntalon fought alongside Tyrande and the Sentinel Army at the Battle of Mount Hyjal. Her mother was among the losses sustained during the fight against Archimonde. In the aftermath of the battle, Faela returned to Felwood to seek her father but the demonic taint was too strong and she found no trace of him. Grieving, she returned to the Sentinels to help rebuild their shattered civilisation.

Stormwind

Soon afterwards, Faela was sent along with several other Sentinels on a diplomatic mission to the Eastern Kingdoms, to liase with the other members of the newly formed Alliance. She spent several years in Stormwind where she learned much about metalworking and Dwarven and Gnomish engineering, and also picked up the human way of fighting with sword and shield. She witnessed the major events of this period, including the hanging of Nefarian's head at the gates of Stormwind by the Ebon Flame, and reported them back to the newly-founded city of Darnassus.
